Garcia is a seasoned leader in the commercial construction sector, bringing over 30 years of experience across land development, vertical construction, and infrastructure. Under his leadership, Modern Construction has delivered high-performance projects in commercial warehousing, transportation, and design-build construction delivery methods, earning a reputation for efficiency, precision, and client-first service. With deep expertise in Sage Timberline Estimating and Project Management controls and construction engineering, he drives results through disciplined execution and sharp business acumen. He holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management with a concentration in Construction Management from Metropolitan State College of Denver.

A firm believer in building smarter, not just bigger, he leverages tools like Sage Timberline Estimating, Project Management and design-build methodology to keep projects on time, on budget, and on vision. He earned his degree in Business Management with a focus in Construction Management from Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Hector H. Garcia brings over 20 years of field leadership and construction management expertise to Modern Construction, Inc. As VP and Director of Field Operations, he oversees the coordination of complex commercial projects across South Texas—managing site logistics, safety compliance, subcontractor performance, and schedule-driven execution. His hands-on approach and technical acumen make him a trusted problem solver on the ground and a key voice in project planning. Patricia Guajardo
CFO
Patricia Guajardo has served as Chief Financial Officer at Modern Construction Inc. since 2009, bringing extensive experience in both accounting and banking to the role. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado.
As a member of the family behind Modern Construction, Patricia brings a deep sense of responsibility and long-term commitment to the company’s success. She plays a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and risk management—helping to establish a strong insurance program that protects both the company and its clients. She also works closely with lenders, attorneys, and compliance personnel to build strategic relationships that support long-term growth.
Utilizing Sage CRE 300, the industry-leading construction accounting software, Patricia leads the financial team in maintaining accurate reporting structures that provide clear insight into the company’s financial health. She is also responsible for overseeing cybersecurity awareness and ensuring the company stays current with the latest software advancements.
In addition to her technical expertise, Patricia is a trusted mentor within the company, fostering a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and operational excellence. Through her leadership, precision, and family-driven commitment, she helps position Modern Construction for sustainable growth in a competitive industry.

Moises Martinez
Project Manager & General Superintendent
Moises C. Martinez serves as both Project Manager and General Superintendent at Modern Construction Inc., where he manages commercial construction projects from planning through completion. A graduate of Texas A&M University, Moises earned a Bachelor’s in University Studies–Business and a Master’s in Land and Property Development (MLPD). While at Texas A&M, he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets and Parsons Mounted Cavalry—an experience that shaped his leadership and discipline in the field.
As a third-generation member of the family business, Moises brings hands-on experience in tilt-up, IMP, and PEMB warehouse construction. He is ACI certified in Tilt-Up and Concrete Flatwork, and is committed to delivering high-quality, on-schedule results while introducing innovative building methods to every job site.
Erwin Hechter
Estimator | Project Manager
Erwin Hechter brings engineering precision and operational know-how to Modern Construction, Inc., supporting both field operations and preconstruction. As a Project Manager and Estimator, he helps guide commercial projects across South Texas—handling budgets, technical specs, and coordination from planning through execution. His background spans aerospace and warehouse operations, where he led cross-functional teams, improved systems, and managed quality in high-pressure environments. Erwin holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Enterprises, which anchor his process-focused mindset. Known for his calm, hands-on leadership, he plays a key role in helping Modern deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality results.
Ricardo Tamez
Senior Building Designer | Specialist in Design and Supervision of Construction Projects
With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Ricardo Tamez has been actively involved in the development, design, and execution of architectural and urban projects in both Mexico and the United States. He is currently part of the team at Modern Construction, Inc., where he has contributed since 2010 to the design and development of various residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Throughout his career, he has stood out for his proficiency in design tools and his ability to integrate practical solutions into both architectural and structural design.
Ricardo has complemented his technical expertise with continuous training in leadership, workplace productivity, effective communication, and compliance with technical standards and building codes, shaping a well-rounded professional profile focused on results and continuous improvement. Esther Noemi Perez has been a valuable part of the Modern Construction, Inc. team since 2019, contributing her expertise in architectural drafting and design. She earned her degree in Architecture from the Instituto Tecnológico de Nuevo Laredo in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Esther has led the aesthetic design of both exterior and interior elements for large-scale projects, showcasing her ability to create spaces that are both functional and visually appealing. She is actively involved in finish management and custom carpentry design, delivering tailored solutions that align with each client's specific needs. Her passion lies in transforming ideas into reality—merging construction techniques with the thoughtful integration of materials, landscaping, colors, and textures. She achieves this through the use of advanced drawing and 3D modeling software, continually updating her skills to stay at the forefront of innovative design.

Human Resources Director and Fleet Operations Manager
Erika Garcia Haynes is the Human Resources Manager at Modern Construction Inc., where she also oversees the company’s equipment and fleet operations. A member of the family behind the company, Erika brings a thoughtful and multifaceted approach to supporting both people and operations.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1998 and went on to receive a Master’s degree in Dance History and Criticism from the University of New Mexico in 2004. Her educational background reflects a deep understanding of human behavior, communication, and discipline—skills that she brings to her daily work managing HR functions, supporting staff development, and coordinating company assets.
In addition to her role at Modern Construction, Erika is an entrepreneur and studio owner, further demonstrating her commitment to leadership, creativity, and community engagement. Her dedication to both operational efficiency and employee well-being makes her an essential part of the company’s ongoing success.
Adriana Padilla
Building Designer | Specialist in Design and Technical Drafting
Adriana Padilla is an architect trained in Mexico with a specialization in computer-aided design technologies in the United States. Originally from Arandas, Jalisco, she has experience in residential and commercial design, survey data processing, and the development of construction permit drawings.
Since 2022, she has been a member of the Modern Construction team, known for her collaborative approach, positive attitude, and teamwork. Adriana is proficient in tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and the full Microsoft Office. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Universidad Univer in Mexico and studies in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design Technology at Laredo College in Texas.
